1.    Who we are

Manufacture Belge de Chocolats (« MBC », « we », « us » or « our ») is a limited liability company with its registered office at 1081 Koekelberg, rue de l’Armistice 5, and registered with the Belgian company registry under number 0722.764.519.

2.    Processing of your personal data

A)    Contact form

When you use the contact forms on our website (www.mbcchocolates.be/contact), we process your personal data in order to process and respond to your request.

In this context, we process data that you provide to us on your own initiative, such as your name and e-mail address.

When you contact us as a (potential) customer, (potential) candidate, or in any other capacity in the context of an existing contract or one that may be concluded, or in order to find out more about our services, we process your data as this is necessary for the performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures taken at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) RGPD). Please note that if you do not provide us with the necessary data, we may not be able to usefully process your request.

Apart from these situations, we process your data on the basis of our legitimate interests, which consist in answering our (potential) customers’ questions and ensuring the good image and reputation of our brand.

B)    Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet or cell phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to improve website functionality, enhance the user experience and provide relevant content and services. Cookies can be temporary (session cookies) or stored for a longer period (persistent cookies).

In general, we only use cookies insofar as they are essential for the proper functioning of our services. It is not our intention to track your online activity, nor to use external analysis tools.

3. Data storage periods

We will only retain your personal data for as long as is necessary to achieve the purpose of the processing as set out in this policy. As soon as the data is no longer required, we will delete or anonymize it.

For example, if you contact us to obtain simple information, we will delete your data usually 6 months after replying to you.

On the other hand, if the communication leads to a contract, we will keep your data at least for the duration of the contract, and generally for 10 years after the end of the contract.

If the communication constitutes a complaint that leads to a dispute, we will at least keep your data for the duration of the dispute.

Cookies will be kept for one year.

As a data subject, you have certain rights under the GDPR, including the right to access, rectify and erase your personal data. You also have the right to restrict certain processing of your personal data and the right to data portability.
